Arsenal and Liverpool stumble to leave City leader of the Premier

MADRID, 14 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Arsenal lost (0-2) with Aston Villa this Sunday and Liverpool did the same with Crystal Palace (0-1) to give the lead in the Premier League to Manchester City on matchday 33.

First it was the ‘red’ team who failed at Anfield against the odds, in their first league defeat in front of their home crowd since October 2022. The London team added three golden points in search of permanence and embittered Jurgen Klopp’s men in a tough week, after being beaten in the Europa League by Atalanta.

Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the match, which leaves Liverpool with 71 points, the same as Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s men did not put their beards to rest and closed the day with another setback that left Manchester City leading with 73 points, with six games left in the fight for the title.

The ‘Gunner’ team fell into the trap of the villains, in a hard misstep at the Emirates and a vital victory for Unai Emery’s team for fourth place. The London team, which was on the verge last year of ending a 20-year drought without winning the English league, gave the lead to Pep Guardiola’s team thanks to goals from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins in the final minutes.
