Andreas Tiefgraber: From PSV Veteran to Judo Bundesliga Contender with Mühlviertel

The PSV veteran is now fighting for runner-up Mühlviertel in the Judo Bundesliga.

The men’s Judo Bundesliga starts on Saturday (6 p.m.). Sanjindo Bischofshofen, which has had to cope with a few losses, welcomes runner-up Mühlviertel. This year he can rely on Andreas Tiefgraber from Salzburg. After his hometown club PSV Salzburg left, the veteran wants to fight for the title with the Upper Austrians this year.

Straßwalchen can count on top people

With JU Flachgau, the second Salzburg Bundesliga team is also demanding a top team in the opening round. The Straßwalchners host champions Galaxy Tigers. “A very difficult, exciting task,” says chairwoman Karin Dorfinger. Your club is once again relying on a young team, reinforced by the world number six Michael Korrel (Netherlands) and Laurin Böhler from Vorarlberg, who is also very successful internationally. Both have already won Grand Slam bronze medals this year.

Dubrovnik instead of Bischofshofen and Stadlau

Numerous Salzburg talents are also traveling internationally this weekend. The national selection fighting at the European Cup in Dubrovnik also includes Michael Niederdorfer, who is therefore missing from Sanjindo, and Tim Schwarzl, who last played for PSV and will now be on the mat for Stadlau this year. The scheduling conflict prevents Schwarzl’s debut. Since Graz withdrew its participation in the championship after the draw, all duels against the Styrians were verified as a penalty. The Graz team are already at the bottom of the eight-club league.
