Handing out the shirt to the fans in the stadiums is one of the actions that footballers repeat the most when they finish a match. First Division players usually don’t have much of a problem, even though, as a general rule, they don’t have unlimited clothing. But in the lower categories, footballers must pay.

Thus, the image that has gone viral in recent days is that of Málaga player Dani Lorenzo, who exchanged his shirt with a fan in the stands in exchange for 50 euros. The ‘El Chiringuito’ cameras captured the moment.

The footballer approached the public to take some photos with the fans and a fan asked him for his shirt. The player explained that he could no longer give away more because the club charged him for it. Then the fan answers that he pays for it. Lorenzo tells him that it would be 50 euros and the young man in the stands does not hesitate: “I’ll give it to you.” That’s when the footballer takes the money through the fence.

Hours later and after the video went viral, Lorenzó explained why he did it. «We are in First RFEF, I am not a millionaire, I would like to. They give us a number of t-shirts to distribute and I have already passed it. From there the club charges us. I told the man who was in the stands and he took 50 euros from me. He caught me so surprised that he offered it to me that I reacted in the most natural way to take it and change it, but now thinking about it I shouldn’t have taken it. I have done it with all the good faith in the world, I hope people understand it,” says the player.
