2nd League: Boateng outstanding in Vienna’s win

In Vienna, the St. Pölten team appeared extremely desolate in the first half, with the result being five goals conceded. The big beneficiary was the effective Boateng, who scored four times in just over half an hour (6th, 19th, 31st, 38th). In the meantime, Christoph Monschein was also able to get on the top scorer list (26th).

In the second half, the Lower Austrians initially seemed to have a jolt, Dario Tadic made it 1:5 (54th). But Noah Steiner’s header from a corner (62′) and Monschein again (68′) abruptly stopped the guests’ efforts.

7:1 by Monschein

Christoph Monschein scored two goals against St. Pölten, including the 7-1 win for Vienna.

However, they had the final word: David Riegler (88th) and again Tadic (89th), who took the lead in the top scorers list from Leoben’s Deni Alar (14th) with his 15th goal of the season, completed the ten-goal spectacle. It is the highest-scoring game so far this second division season. In the table, Vienna improved to eighth place, the “Wolves” remain fifth.

Ried wins in Kapfenberg

In Kapfenberg, the hosts, who had to replace goalkeeper Richard Strebinger with 19-year-old Marvin Wieser due to injury, took the lead with an own goal from Mark Große after a free kick. Nik Marinsek (18′) and David Bumberger’s header (30′) turned the game in Rieder’s favor before the break. Philipp Pomer (86th) increased the score to 3-1 in the second half and the match was decided.

Own goal from Große

Kapfenberg took the lead against Ried thanks to an own goal from Große.

Meanwhile, Horn defeated Lafnitz 2-1. Marco Hausjell (48th) and Alexander Joppich with a free kick (55th) secured three points for the Waldviertel team, but the goal from substitute Noah Lederer (73rd) ultimately came too late. Horn moved up to sixth place, while the Lafnitz team slipped back to ninth place.

Hausjell makes it 1-0

Marco Hausjell put Horn on the road to success against Lafnitz.

Liefering also won 2-1 at SV Stripfing, Raphael Hofer (11th) and Gaoussou Diakite (73rd) had put Salzburg on the winning path. Darijo Pecirep only managed a cosmetic result (94th).
