Young Athletes from Polisportiva Riccione Shine at Grisignano di Zocco Trophy

On Sunday 24 March 3 young athletes from the Polisportiva Riccione participated in the Grisignano di Zocco (VI) Trophy. These are Celicia and Alessandro Nassuato and Jahaui Lin. The first two, originally from Verona, have been attending the gym of the Polisportiva Caselle in the province of Verona since they were children and only a few months ago, while continuing to frequent their gym of origin, for federal activity they entrusted themselves to the technical direction of the Maestro Giuseppe Longo of the Riccione Sports Club, attending the Riccione Dojo every Friday and weekend. Jahaui, on the other hand, is a very young athlete who started judo just over a year ago and is gradually approaching the competitive world.

Cecilia Nassuato (under 14 – 40 kg) passed 2 matches brilliantly and took first place. Jahui Lin (under 14 – 81 kg) played 2 matches, winning one and losing the other and finished in second place. Alessandro Nassuato (under 18 – 60 kg) played 5 matches, 2 of which he lost, and ranked 5th (which in judo is equivalent to 4th).

“The boys did their best. The race was an excellent test for everyone and helped us understand where we are at and refine our work in the gym. Alessandro did an excellent race in a competitive category and numerous. She won three matches for Ippon (the Ko of judo) only to lose the quarterfinal match with the category winner and the final for third place, committing some naivety that we are working on. Cecilia had an excellent attitude. Even with we are working to improve the technical aspect of her and try to evolve her judo into a more competitive version. Jahui is still immature, but he has great potential in which we are investing a lot” says the director of the judo section Mastro Giuseppe Longo.

The judo section will participate in the Piancavallo retreat next week, with Sofia Longo called up by the regional representative and other athletes, including pre-competitors, in preparation for the next events: Sofia Longo will go to Berlin on April 14th with the Italian national team; Bruno Badiane will make the A1 under 21 final in Naples on April 7; Cecilia Nassuanto and Jahui Lin will participate in their first Trofeo Italia in Pescara on April 13th.
