Wales-France: Nolann Le Garrec’s brilliant “chistera” on video

The nerve of youth. For his first start in Blue, Nolann le Garrec had a high-level first half this Sunday against Wales during the Six Nations Tournament. While he had just scored a mischievous try upwind, the scrum-half offered the audience at the Millennium in Cardiff a very classy gesture.

Found in the middle of the field in a transition phase, the little number nine chose to make a “chistera” of around thirty meters towards his fly half Thomas Ramos. Boldness, technique, vision… Everything was there to destabilize the Welsh block in the direction of width from the right to the left with this blind pass.

A little earlier, the 21-year-old from Vannes had managed to flatten two steps from the posts after an attack initiated on the left via a scrum. This try restored the advantage to the Blues (17-20), the score at half-time.

In difficulty since the start of the Tournament, Fabien Galthié has chosen to give a chance to young players. Le Garrec thus forms an unprecedented hinge with Thomas Ramos.
