The girls were very disciplined, respected the game plan. I don’t yet realize that we are at the Final Four. The little thumb of French basketball is part of the European top 4. I have a feeling of pride, of a duty more than accomplished, no one was expecting us there. At the start of the match (at 14-0), I told myself that we were going through the same thing as match 1, the girls thought about it too but we knew what to do so that it didn’t happen again .
“We want to win and we will be disappointed if we don’t”
We will have to approach the Final Four with ambition. We have always played with ambition. We will play Prague, who we have already beaten in the regular season, which gives us some hope. A lot can happen in a month. We will play to win. If we hadn’t made it through the quarters, we would have been disappointed even though it was the club’s first quarters. It will be the same for the Final Four, we want to win and we will be disappointed if that is not the case. We always want to offer the best version of ourselves. »
Kennedy Burke, Villeneuve-d’Ascq winger: “It doesn’t seem real! It’s not! I’m so happy for my teammates. We knew what we had to do and we rose to the occasion. When they came back into contact several times, we kept our calm, we remained collective, together. Our defense won the game.
We are going to play the Final Four to win it. I am convinced that we have the players to go all the way, to play for this title. It would be amazing to be able to experience the event from home. France is a great country, with the best fans. That would make a lot of sense. First of all, I think it might take me two weeks to realize that we managed to qualify! »
