Verona-Milan: the mirage of Sunday at 3pm

Almost like a mirage for the fans now exhausted by matches every day and at all hours, Verona-Milan will be played at 3pm on Sunday in the presence of around twenty-six thousand spectators. At the moment of the anthem which accompanies the home team towards the center of the pitch, the participation of the La Scala fans is practically almost total, thanks also to the considerable help of all the other sectors which together with the South contribute to the initial support, even in the higher than the grandstand where those present are numerous and noisy.

Visually in Curva there are many banners that delimit and color the area, while the flags are activated in alternating phases but all very well synchronized. It is prosaic to say that the two opposing fans today have never loved each other, therefore the various offensive chants can easily be deduced, among which there is no shortage of the usual playful paradoxes of the Veronese who dedicate to the Rossoneri a “You will win the tricolore”.

Clearly the Curva does not always manage to maintain the high initial standards but, in the moments when everyone sings, the contribution is truly impressive, also in this case thanks to the important help of the rest of the sectors.

Despite being defeated on the pitch, the scarves accompany the players who go to the home section to greet the fans who, for their part, only applaud their players, without the slightest hint of protest and/or without being influenced in this from the difficult situation that arose with their management.

The guest contingent is instead placed between the central ring and the upper one completely packed with a presence of over 3,000 fans, but there are many others scattered in other areas of the stadium as always happens in every stadium where the so-called “streaks” play.

The various two-pole banners are displayed in very few moments of the match, a little at the beginning and then at the end, while the “CURVA SUD” banner with other smaller ones have the task of representing all the Rossoneri present. Only a couple of flags are flying attributable to the most important groups in the geography of AC Milan fans.

Almost all dressed in black with the sole exception of the well-known orange bomber jacket, they offer an eye-catching look to say the least. During the match some Rossoneri smoke bombs are lit while the vocal cheering, coordinated by some choir throwers, is truly impressive.

Even with temperatures that are not exactly spring-like, in the midst of the “total black” some spots stand out where people cheer bare-chested, which become very choreographic when they all hug each other and with their backs turned to the playing field until the end of the match.

There is no match on the pitch, Milan wins with a clear three to one which strengthens their second place, to the detriment of their direct competitors who are unable to keep up with them. Not bad for Verona, this was certainly not one of those matches to win at all costs, the ranking continues to smile on them and by keeping the bar straight in this moment of difficulty, salvation can certainly be within reach.
