The second expansion of Dead Island 2 – SoLA – will come out on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S on April 17, 2024.
The new DLC will include:
New story. A lethal virus spreads across the valley, transforming its inhabitants into ravenous zombies as a pounding rhythm calls from beyond: the beat of the Autophage. Lured to the festival by an enigmatic warning message, players must explore the ruins of SoLA and put an end to this otherworldly threat.
New location. A visceral, blood-soaked music festival in the heart of Los Angeles (or HELL-A, as we like to call it) plays to a menacing beat that turns the living into zombies and can be heard around the world.
New enemies. Including the Whipper, a new variant of zombie, driven mad with self-loathing by the Autophage. His mania for self-mutilation has transformed him into a horrible nightmare of disemboweled intestines, which can be hurled from a distance. And Clotter, another disturbing new zombie, who can decompose into a disgusting mass of blood, making himself immune to harm in that form, and then reform elsewhere to continue fighting. It is capable of shooting a powerful jet of putrid blood from the heart.
New legendary weapons like the Ripper: A deadly fusion of a baseball bat and a circular saw, perfect for dismemberments. And the Sawblade Launcher: a heavy weapon that fires rotating saw blades; the perfect weapon for decapitation and dismemberment from a distance.
