In barely two minutes of play, the public quickly understood that the GAB would struggle all evening this Saturday. The locals were leading 10-0, had made several defensive stops and Wansi Fonkua had already committed his first foul. He makes his second coming out of the timeout taken by Adrien Ferrer to stop this rapid hemorrhage. But the Lot-et-Garonnais technician was never able to cauterize the wound. If Comblon and Papo manage to score in the wake of Forcada Sanchez (4 3-point baskets and 15 points in 10 minutes), the locals easily manage their lead until the end of the first quarter (25-7, 8th, 29-16, 10th).
The second is a visitor. The GAB finally finds its feet in defense. Toulouse can only score four points in five minutes and, as Papo and Real (2 in 2 minutes) find the distance to 3 points, the GAB gets closer to 3 points (33-30, 15th)… But will never take command ! TOAC manages to repel the visitors thanks to a great combativeness like an offensive rebound from Fauchard who steals the ball from Lopez’s hands to put it in the circle (46-39, 20th).
Papo et Lopez, in vain
The GAB came back a second time to 3 lengths after half-time (46-43, 21st), before being pushed back by Fauchard, Forcada and Fabbro (57-45, 24th). Despite Comblon, TOAC maintains a lead of more than ten lengths. He takes it again twice to sixteen (70-54, 29th, 73-57, 31st).
Jones then enters the scene (8 consecutive points) to begin a new approach to the GAB (75-65, 33rd). Real remains effective at 3 points, Wansi Fonkua is freer under the circle and Lopez finally wakes up. A visitor hold-up remains possible (80-76, 36th). A 3 point from Hourne Raubet followed by a 1 out of 3 from Lopez on free throws revived TOAC (83-77) which, after letting the storm pass, went as quickly as Buzz Lightyear towards victory, in the wake of the shock duo Forcada-Seguela which more than compensates for the latest attempts of Papo and Lopez.
