La Flèche Judo Club Breaks Record with Nearly 340 Participants in Paulette-Fouillet Tournament

In recent years, the Paulette-Fouillet tournament organized by the La Flèche Judo Club brought together an average of nearly 300 judokas. Sunday March 17, record broken. The club welcomed nearly 340 young people aged 5 to 14, from around twenty clubs in Sarthe and Maine-et-Loire. We were forced to refuse people, explains Stéphane Caltiau, president of the club. The reason ? Perhaps because the club has always been renowned for its good organization.

This tournament is intended to be a friendly inter-club meeting to allow young people to practice in competition conditions. Organized every year, it was until now organized in tribute to Paulette Fouillet, a judoka born in 1950 in Angers and died in 2015. In 2025, it will take the name of Françoise Dufresne, a Fléchoise member of the club and who has just won , at 71, a twelfth world champion title.
