After FC Bayern Munich reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Thomas Müller set off fireworks in typical fashion. The focus of the statements was teammate Matthijs de Ligt.

The Dutchman had set up Müller’s 2-0 with a “soft cross”, as the veteran explained with a wink after the 3-0 win over Lazio in the catacombs of the Allianz Arena.
“When it comes to his thigh, sometimes you don’t know exactly whether these are still human features. Thank God I only let him touch it, so don’t worry,” said Müller about his goal. This was preceded by a powerful dropkick from de Ligt from the penalty area, which the 34-year-old headed into the goal from very close range.
With their confident success, the German record champions overturned the 0-1 defeat in the first leg and are now in the last eight. FCB’s opponent will be determined during the draw on March 15th.
