Two subjects, aged 27 and 32, were sent to jail for being linked to an armed robbery at a recycling plant, located in the district of Nuevo San Juan, area of the Transístmica de Colón, as a result of a hearing held on Thursday. March 28 in the Accusatory Criminal System (SPA).
The events involving these two people began on the night of March 26, 2024, when the two men, according to the initial judicial investigation, entered a recycling plant and, through violence and intimidation, threatened two people with a knife to strip them of their belongings. three mobile phones with their respective chargers; In addition to this, they attacked one of the victims.
Both were apprehended in flagrante delicto by agents of the National Police, with the stolen items.
The case is investigated by the First Section of Crimes Against Economic Assets of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Colón and Guna Yala.
At the hearing held on March 28, 2024, Inelda Batista, prosecutor of the case, asked Bernalda Martínez, guarantee judge, to legalize the arrest and formulate charges against the two men, requests that were admitted.
At this hearing, a precautionary measure of provisional detention was also issued for both of them for the crime of aggravated robbery.
The Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Colón and Guna Yala was granted six months of investigation.
