The XIII Bearzot Award – Football goes to Simone Inzaghi

Simone Inzaghi is the winner of the 13th edition of the Enzo Bearzot National Award, an award promoted by the ACLI Sports Union together with the FIGC. “Inzaghi remembers Bearzot in the management of the so-called dressing room with a leadership that was both severe and paternally affectionate”, the motivation with which the jury wanted to award the Inter coach the recognition that will be given to him on April 22nd at the Salone d’ Honor of CONI.

The announcement took place in the ‘Paolo Rossi’ room of the FIGC in the presence of the number one of the US ACLI, Damiano Lembo, and the president of the Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina. The award jury, coordinated by the national Ansa’s chief sports editor Piercarlo Presutti, met in the morning for the decision.

The special lifetime achievement award was also awarded to Livio Berruti, former Italian sprinter and Olympic gold medalist in the 200m at the ’60 Rome Games, while the AIA indicated Matteo Marcenaro as the winner of the award named in memory of Stefano Farina, referee who passed away in 2017 .
