The Pro League Carousel Continues: 5 Coaches in Question, Will Bruno Irles be the Next to Go?

The great Pro League carousel never stops. After the classic phase had delivered all its verdicts, 4 coaches left… and a fifth could follow!

The Jupiler Pro League is a real grinder for coaches, we know that. The 2023-2024 season was no exception to the rule, with 11 changes already this season, 12 if we count that of Vincent Euvrard before the season even begins. The 30th day of the championship was almost a caricature in this regard.

Indeed, following the last day of the classic phase, 4 coaches left their positions. Florian Kohfeldt did it of his own free will. But Ronny Deila, Rik De Mil and Felice Mazzù were all dismissed by Bruges, Westerlo and Charleroi respectively. A real carousel… which could still take a short turn before the start of the final phase.

The Bruno Irles method did not help the RWDM

According to information from Sacha Tavolieri, it is in fact now… the RWDM which would question its trainer, Bruno Irles. The 48-year-old Frenchman arrived in Molenbeek in mid-February, but did not manage to avoid the Playdowns.

Under the leadership of Irles, the RWDM did not win a single championship match and only took one small point, at home against OHL. Worse: the promoted team finished the season… bottom, even though they were still fourteenth when their new coach arrived.

The results therefore do not speak in favor of the former coach of Sochaux and Sheriff Tiraspol. Still according to our colleague Sacha Tavolieri, it is the dismissal of Felice Mazzù which could decide Eagle Sports to try the electroshock strategy in turn.

After all, with AS Eupen, three of the 4 clubs competing in the Playdowns will have changed coaches before the start of the play-offs for maintenance. And for KV Kortrijk, the arrival of Freyr Alexandersson changed everything. Will John Textor (again) crack down?
