The former Scampia champion talks about the motivations that pushed him to become a reality TV specialist: the GF after the triumphs on Beijing Express and on the Island of the Famous.
It is the harsh law of the champions of “other sports”. You can win medals, win titles, excel in international competitions: the money earned will always be little. Especially in relation to the showers of money from football, or from motorsports. Marco Maddaloni knows this mechanism well. He has pocketed much more with reality TV than a more than decent career as a judoka. We didn’t do the math in his pocket: he told it himself, with the elegance and dignity that have always distinguished him.
Maddaloni: the last adventure at the GF and the death of his father-in-law
Interviewed by Chi, the former Scampia champion spoke about his experience on Big Brother, abruptly interrupted due to the sudden death of his father-in-law, the father of his wife Romina Giamminelli, to whom he was very close, and expressed his “prediction” on the final victory. But most of all he told the real reasons that pushed him to participate in the reality show. The same ones that had led him to say yes to other similar experiences, Beijing Express and L’Isola dei Famosi, both won as a competitor.
Who will win Big Brother? Maddaloni has clear ideas
“Who will win? Beatrice, or Giuseppe“, Maddaloni confessed. “In terms of votes, I see Pearl as very strong. I’ve been told a few times that I’m a bit of a strategist, but that’s different, I like calculating probabilities. In general I go crazy for calculations, every time I participated in a reality show the only goal was to last as long as possible to earn more. I say that’s why I went.”

The money earned allows him and his family to lead a peaceful life: “I have qualifications as a sportsman, but I’m not a footballer and I like the good life. In the sense that I like going out to eat with my wife, I like the idea of my children being in the poolbut since I’m not a footballer… Then I invested the money from the TV in real estate, but there were periods in which I lived in 60 square meters of attic with my three children to rent the rest of the house and have an income ”.
