Chris Simon is unfortunately not the first National League player who used his fists to meet an untimely end.
Host Mario Langlois talks about it with another player who had to play this way during his years in the NHL, André Roy.
“I find it sad. It affects me. The hockey community is very big, but the community of former tough guys is close. We have mutual respect.
“It’s so weird feeling, when you hear something similar. It’s like he’s one of my loved ones.”
Roy explains that like most players, he didn’t enjoy fighting, but it became a necessity to survive in the big hockey circuit.
