The Red Devils had a successful first half in the practice clash against England on Tuesday evening. Belgium went into halftime with a 1-2 lead. Nevertheless, one Devil was targeted by English followers on the social medium ‘X’.
The team of national coach Domenico Tedesco started the match at Wembley as outsiders, but was soon able to take the lead. Youri Tielemans mercilessly punished a blunder by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The Aston Villa midfielder, who was played in a higher role, would also make it 1-2 at the end of the second period after a great assist from Romelu Lukaku.
In the meantime, England had come alongside first. When Ivan Toney accelerated into the box, Jan Vertonghen caused a penalty foul. The defender claimed that he hit the ball first, but that was not 100 percent clear on the replays. And so the VAR did not intervene.
