Success at the 30th International Thuringia Cup and Bremen Masters Judo Competitions

This year the 30th International Thuringia Cup for women U18 and U21 took place at the Bad Blankenburg sports school. 422 participants, including 141 German judoka, took part. The athletes came from 17 nations.

The German athletes won five gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. There are also eight 5th places and seven 7th places.

Gold medals won:

U18:

  • -52 kg: Charlotte Nettesheim – JC 90 Frankfurt (Oder) – BB
  • -63 kg: Sara-Tamar Wolfsfeld – JC 71 Düsseldorf – NW
  • -70 kg: Mia Manukyan – TSV Kronshagen – SH
  • +70 kg: Sofia Shvydka – Judo Club Wiesbaden 1922 – HE

U21:

  • -70 kg: Tanja Grünewald – TSV Altenfurt – BY

Brazil beat Japan in the team competition. The German team takes third place together with Uzbekistan.

674 athletes from 25 nations took part in the traditional Bremen Masters for men U18 and U21. 212 participants came from Germany alone.

The athletes won 13 medals in the U18 category, four in the U21 category, a total of five gold medals, five silver medals and seven bronze medals. In addition, three 5th places and nine 7th places. Up to 75 participants in the U21 and up to 64 participants in the U18 competed in the weight classes. Germany leads the nations rankings with five wins, ahead of Azerbaijan with four wins and the Netherlands and Japan with two wins each.
