Serhou Guirassy Recharged and Ready for Stuttgart’s Bundesliga Push

The many fans at the public training sessions were happy to see him. Stuttgart’s goalscorer was happy to be able to leave his suitcase in the basement. Serhou Guirassy was not assigned to the Guinea national team during this secondment period and was instead allowed to recharge his batteries.

Star striker Serhou Guirassy was released for the inconsequential friendly international matches in Saudi Arabia against the national teams of Vanatu, which Guinea won against the South Pacific island nation 6-0, and against Bermuda (5-1). Instead, the 28-year-old, who has scored 22 goals in 20 Bundesliga games, was allowed to recharge his batteries in Stuttgart.

Which, according to Sebastian Hoeneß, was successful. Guirassy told the head coach of the third-place team “that he hasn’t had the opportunity to be with his family for three or four days during a season for ages. That’s why I’m sure it did him good.” As a cherry on the cake, after two training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, the attacker, who was born in Arles, France, was given another day off by his boss on Thursday.

Guirassy “brings a high level”

Hoeneß is full of praise for the league’s second-best goalscorer behind Bayern’s Harry Kane, who has an impressive 31 goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances. “Serhou is a very ambitious player and places high demands on himself, but also on his teammates,” says the 41-year-old. “This is something we need.”

The fact that Guirassy sometimes offends with this ambition and reprimands his teammates loudly and with gestures and wakes them up when he doesn’t like something is not a major problem. “It’s good that there’s someone there who maintains some tension. Of course, he always has to be measured by that. Also by what he himself sets an example for. But he brings a high level to that.”

I know that he continues to be very ambitious, ambitious, demanding. In a good way.

Sebastian Hoeneß on Serhou Guirassy

When asked whether he had noticed any changes in the striker who was included in the Bundesliga this season, Hoeneß had to pass. “I wouldn’t have noticed anything. I can’t say. I know he continues to be very ambitious, ambitious, demanding. In a good way.” And if Guirassy has ever vented his anger in one situation or another, then it was “within limits. If there is a bit of friction in training, it’s not wrong. Everything just has to stay within limits, on one level “Respectful manner. It must always be clear that it’s about the matter. It’s about winning games.”

The goalscorer has done more than enough for VfB, who are preparing to secure a place for international business this season, perhaps even for the Champions League.
