The ‘2nd Korea Women’s University Sports Exchange Exhibition’, hosted by the Korea Women’s University Presidents Association, opened on March 22 at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology Sports Complex.

Five of the four-year women’s universities in Seoul (Dukseong Women’s University, Dongduk Women’s University, Seoul Women’s University, Sungshin Women’s University, and Sookmyung Women’s University) participated in the Korea Women’s University Sports Exchange Exhibition, which marks its second anniversary this year.

The sports exchange event was decided to be ‘soccer’, continuing from last year. Each of the five women’s universities participates as a student soccer team and plays in a league format, with the first and second place teams competing for the championship trophy. All events from the preliminaries to the finals take place in one day, and the game lasts 30 minutes, with 15 minutes each in the first and second halves.

Before the game, Seoul Women’s University President Seung Hyun-woo, Duksung Women’s University Student and Human Resources Development Director Lee Ho-rim, Dongduk Women’s University President Kim Myeong-ae, Sungshin Women’s University President Lee Seong-geun, and Sookmyung Women’s University President Jang Yun-geum visited the stadium to encourage the players in person, and players from each university pledged to do well.

Student Oh Hyeon-ji (20, Department of Physical Education, Physical Education, 20 years old), captain of the SYNERGY soccer team at Dongduk Women’s University, who participated as a player in this sports exchange event, said, “It is very meaningful to have an opportunity for women’s universities to cooperate by holding an exchange match with each other.” She added, “All participating college soccer teams prepared hard. “I hope that I can get good results because of my participation,” he said about his participation.

Seung Hyun-woo, Chairman of the Korea Women’s University Presidents’ Association, said, “I am even more pleased to be holding the Korean Women’s University Sports Exchange Exhibition for the second time this year, following last year. This event is an opportunity for exchange and empathy among our women’s universities rather than a simple athletic competition to compete for the winner. “It has greater meaning in that it is a place for mutual cooperation and harmony through mutual cooperation,” he said. “I look forward to seeing the athletes demonstrate their sports spirit, and I will cheer them on.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Women’s University Presidents’ Association plans to conduct sports exchanges in various fields such as tennis, basketball, and badminton in addition to soccer exchanges.
