Arne Woltmann Signs Three-Year Contract as Assistant Coach for Bamberg Baskets

Bamberg (dpa / lby) – The current interim coach Arne Woltmann remains loyal to the Bamberg Baskets and will work as an assistant to the new head coach Anton Gavel in the future. As the Bundesliga club announced, the 49-year-old has signed a three-year contract. Woltmann had already worked successfully together with Chris Fleming in Bamberg from 2008 to 2014. At the end of May 2022, the Bremerhaven native returned as assistant coach to Oren Amiel. After Amiel was released in February, Woltmann took over the team as interim coach. In the summer, former Bamberg professional Anton Gavel, who made ratiopharm Ulm champions, will be the new head coach.

For winger Kevin Wohlrath, however, the season ended prematurely. The 29-year-old had to undergo surgery due to appendicitis and is now out.
