Rudy Gobert Fined $100,000 by NBA for “Money Gesture” towards Officials

National Basketball Association (NBA) for Minnesota Timberwolves player to Rudy Gobert sentenced A fine of 100 thousand dollars for a “money gesture” towards the judges.

The incident took place on the night of March 9 in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (104:113). In the last minute of the match, after fighting for a rebound, Gobert received a note, which turned out to be his sixth, and he had to leave the field. The French basketball player expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the referees, also showing a money gesture in their direction, for which he additionally received a technical note.

Gobert did not stop there, however, and after the game he expressed the opinion that some of the mistakes of the referees were not simply mistakes, but deliberate influencing of the game. “I accept that the league will punish me again, but I believe that it hurts our game. The stakes and everything else become more of a problem. All credit to Cleveland, they played damn well, but let the game be decided by the players.”

Gobert played in 62 games this season, averaging 13.8 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
