After a historic qualification to the play-off for the league championship, Ravachol Pontevedra’s season in the main category of Spanish badminton came to an end this weekend, falling on the Sevillian Rinconada court 6-1.
The Pontevedra team, which faced several injuries in the final stretch of the campaign, arrived in Seville as if under cover to face the twelve-time champion of the National Club League, but finally, the red and black team gave in to the local superiority.
The Andalusians won all three doubles matches, as well as three of the four individual matches played. Only the Englishwoman Georgina Bland was able to break the undefeated local team, by beating the Chinese player Wei Xu in three sets (9-11, 9-11 and 5-11).
In this way, Ravachol closes a 2023-2024 season to remember, finishing among the four best teams in national badminton.
