A victory down to the wire! Installed just behind the main leader of the event, namely Iris des Roseaux (n° 6), acclaimed by the punters, during almost the entire race, In Love With Chenu (n° 2) waited for the last line right to win the Prix de Saint-Étienne, support of the quinté this Monday at the Caen racecourse (Calvados).

“She is in good condition (…). There is a question of course, two, three clients, but I would be disappointed not to be in the quinté,” announced his driver and trainer Pierre Pellerot at the Equidia microphone, a few minutes before taking the start. The latter wins his first event race here.

Excellent right-hander – she notably won at the Agen racecourse on February 12 -, In Love With Chenu was able to take advantage of the train set by Iris des Roseaux (n° 6), installed from the start of the race at the front positions, to win at the end of the 2,450 m course.

Big favorite, the 6-year-old gelding finally took third place, overtaken near the post by Invictus Madiba (n° 15). Isyboy de Cinglais (no. 5) and Gazoline de Seux (no. 11) complete the good combination.
