Pep Guardiola is concerned to see Manchester United become a mediocre team Guardiola is concerned to see Man United become a mediocre team

Guardiola was reluctant to predict that Ratcliffe’s presence could change United’s fortunes in a short time.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his sympathy for city rivals, Manchester United, which experienced a decline after Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

Guardiola expressed this ahead of the Manchester derby, Sunday (3/3) evening WIB, at the Etihad Stadium. Since Ferguson retired in 2013, United has failed to face the challenge of winning titles in various competitions.

On the other hand, in that period, City have won six times, including five titles in the last six years under Guardiola, who last season equaled United’s treble achievement.

Currently, City is competing for the title with Liverpool and Arsenal, while United, who is in sixth place in the standings, is struggling to enter the European competition zone.

Against this backdrop, Guardiola understands how difficult the situation is for United after they went from a period of sustained dominance under Ferguson to becoming a shadow team.

“You are required to win [bila bermain] at big clubs. “It’s not easy for United to recover from a period of extraordinary success with Sir Alex and overcome it,” Guardiola was quoted as saying on the website Mirror.

“Sometimes I can understand it. Previously, in England, with managers they were more patient. Right now, everyone is under a lot of pressure.”

United now hope to return to the glory days they experienced in the Ferguson era. Guardiola said the presence of Sir Jim Ratcliffe could provide a new color for United, but was reluctant to give predictions regarding the timing of United’s revival.

“Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his people know their club. [Sedangkan] I do not know anything. If they say it will take two or three years, who am I to say otherwise?” said Guardiola.

“I’m pretty sure they will work to reduce the gap, but I can’t give you an answer, because I wasn’t there. I’m not the right person to ask about the diagnosis there, ask the people who are inside United every day.”
