The former candidate for president of Unión por la Patria, Sergio Massa, launched a series of warnings and reflections during the Congress of the Renewal Front held last week. In his speech, Massa warned about the consequences of the policies implemented by the Government of Javier Milei, pointing out that “We are going to see a fall, a very large degradation of income in Argentina, we are going to see a process of destruction of industrial installed capacity and small and medium-sized companies, we are going to see a deterioration in the quality of life of sectors that did not vote for us«.
The former Minister of Economy also called for self-criticism within Peronism, highlighting that “Our mistake is to stand with an accusing finger and try to tell people that they made a mistake when it came to voting. People are not wrong, in any case they are scammed«. Likewise, he emphasized the importance of listening to citizens and working to build a new majority that allows Peronism to return to government in four years.
Massa also reflected on the mistakes of the recent past, especially in relation to the loss of votes in the agricultural sector during the last elections. He recognized that Peronism did not know how to adequately communicate its policies and failed to connect with some sectors of society.
Regarding the economic outlook, Massa warned about the impact that government measures will have on Argentine society, placing special emphasis on the loss of jobs and the closure of small and medium-sized businesses.
