Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona will face each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. A short month before this double confrontation, hostilities were launched, on both sides, with a reminder, on the Barcelona side, of the comeback of 2017.

During the quarter-finals of this 2023-2024 edition of the Champions League, a duel will pit the French club Paris Saint-Germain against its Spanish counterpart FC Barcelona. The first leg will take place on Wednesday, April 10 at 9:00 p.m., while the return leg is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 at 9:00 p.m. The last double confrontation between these two same teams dates back to the 2020-2021 season. This time at the round of 16 stage, Paris Saint-Germain eliminated FC Barcelona. In the first leg, among the Blaugrana, the Parisians won by a large margin (1-4), before securing the return match, with a draw (1-1). This duel between these same two teams will necessarily remain linked to another double confrontation and this comeback of the year 2017. During the first leg of the round of 16, PSG necessarily felt that they had done the hardest part, after a very large victory over the score 4-0.
Barça evoked the comeback
But that was without counting on the incredible capacity of reaction of the Barcelona people, clear winners of the return match (6-1), on March 8, 2017, and therefore qualified for the quarter-finals. And precisely, just a few moments after the draw for this season’s quarter-finals, Barça did not fail to recall this historic evening.
