Odermatt leads the last giant of the season in Saalbach

Marco Odermatt, who has won the previous nine races and is already assured of the big globe, is on the verge of achieving a grand slam not seen since 1979 and the Swedish legend Ingemar Stenmark.

Starting with bib 2, Odermatt took advantage of the good light and snowy conditions at the very start of the race and finished 40 hundredths ahead of his compatriot Loic Meillard, who started just before him. Behind, the sky became cloudy and the snow quickly deteriorated due to spring conditions. The Norwegian Alexander Steen Olsen, 3rd, was relegated to 1 sec 39/100.
