Only one BVB player in the DFB squad? Edin Terzic supports Julian Nagelsmann

After Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win against PSV Eindhoven, BVB coach Edin Terzic made an appeal to the German fans with a view to the home European Championship in the summer.

When asked about the expected absence of some Dortmund players when tomorrow’s announcement of the DFB nomination for the upcoming international matches against France and the Netherlands, Terzic appealed not to criticize the decisions of national coach Julian Nagelsmann from the outset.

“The national coach can choose from the pool across Germany and he will make the right decisions for us,” said the BVB coach on DAZN after the end of the game. “Because what we expect for ourselves is what we also expect from the national team. That it will be a real celebration in the summer and that we play successful football.”

Terzic therefore asked the German fans “perhaps not to immediately question every decision.” Instead, you have to “stand behind it. And that we put all the support into the team and the group. Because we all have a goal. We here at Borussia Dortmund from the club’s perspective but of course also as Germany and as a nation.”

According to consistent media reports, striker Niclas Füllkrug is the only Dortmund professional to make it into the squad for the upcoming DFB test matches. However, players like Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck or Niklas Süle will probably not be invited.

For the German national team, the games in France and against the Netherlands are the last tests before the European Championships in the summer. This will take place between June 14th and July 14th in Germany. The DFB team will then be challenged in the group phase against Switzerland, Scotland and Hungary.
