Novak Djokovic Announces Split from Coach Goran Ivanisevic

This comes as a surprise: Novak Djokovic has separated from his coach Goran Ivanisevic. The Serbian tennis superstar announced this on Instagram. “Goran and I decided to end our collaboration a few days ago. Our chemistry on the court had its ups and downs, but our friendship was always rock solid,” the Djoker wrote under two photos he posted. He recently canceled his participation in the Masters in Miami and said he was juggling his private and professional schedule during this phase.

He still remembers when he invited Goran to become part of his team. Looking for innovation and service magic. In fact, much more came out of it than that. “A lot of laughter, fun, number one at the end of the year, record performances and twelve more Grand Slams (and a few finals). Did I also mention a bit of drama?” Saying “Sefinjo, thank you for everything, my friend. I love you,” Djokovic concluded the post.

From 2019 onwards, the former Wimbledon winner, who primarily (but not only) improved the 24-time Grand Slam winner’s serve game, stood at the side of the most successful player of all time. It is not yet known whether someone (and if so, who) will succeed Ivanisevic as coach.
