A very harsh, angry reaction to the acquittal of the Inter defender Francesco Acerbi by the sports justice system, called to judge what the Napoli defender had reported John Jesus. “He called me a nigger,” the blue defender had claimed. And now the club of Aurelio De Laurentiis does not remain silent, protesting what happened and announcing that “he will no longer join purely cosmetic initiatives of football institutions against the racism not discriminationswe will continue to do them ourselves, as we have always done, with renewed belief and determination.”
Based on reasons of the federal judge, writes Napoli in a fiery note, “the guilty it should, for sporting ‘justice’, be Juan Jesus, who would have accused a co-worker unfairly.” But, Napoli points out, “it is not reasonable to think that he misunderstood” and yet “the principle of greater probability of an event, widely visible from the dynamics of the facts and its apologies on the pitch, which is taken into consideration in sports justice, disappears in this sentence.”
“We are stunned”, we read in the note from the reigning Italian champion club. “Furthermore, if what happened on the pitch, the sentence says so, ‘it certainly is compatible with the expression of offenses directed… by the Inter player, and not unknown in theirs offensive tenor and threatened by the same, why not impose any sanctions on the latter? Why, then, does the sentence always say, ‘since proof of the offense has certainly been proven’, no decision has been taken by sporting ‘justice’ in this regard to punish the person responsible?”, are the two questions that Napoli asks themselves by writing twice sporting justice between quotation marksas if to underline that the FIGC’s decision does not do justice to what Juan Jesus said.
