The NBA has started negotiations for television rights, given that the agreement signed in 2014 with Disney and TNT will expire in a year, at the end of the 2024/2025 season. According to Tom Friend of Sports Business Journal, Disney (ABC/ESPN) and TNT would like to extend the agreement to include exclusivity for the Emirates NBA Cup. NBA executives believe the new rights package will be valued between 60 and 72 billion dollars, an estimate at least 2.5 times greater than the agreement currently in force.
Negotiations for NBA media rights are expected to conclude between June and July.
