SANTO DOMINGO. The representation of Monte Plata (Bayaguana) was awarded first place in the National Cadet and Junior Judo Championship that concluded on Sunday in the Pavilion of that discipline at the Olympic Center with a special dedication to Dr. Juan A. Niemen.

The Monte Plata judokas accumulated a total of 563 points, the product of five gold medals, six silver and three bronze, while the team from the National District took second place with 426 points after winning four gold metals, two silver and six of bronze.

With 321 total points, the San Pedro de Macorís Judo Association raised the third place trophy. The Petromacorisan judokas won three gold medals, two silver and one bronze.

The fourth place fell to the Barahona delegation, with a total of 313 points, the product of three gold medals, one silver and three bronze, while La Vega, with 210 units, finished in fourth place, with two medals. gold and one silver, and Azua, with 203 points, took fifth place, after winning two gold and three bronze medals.

The first competitions were held in the cadet and junior categories, in men, and on Sunday the combats in women, in both categories.
