Team USA at the 2024 Olympics: These players have already confirmed
The biggest stars are LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the latter of whom has already taken part in the last three editions. James won gold in 2008 and 2012, but only won bronze in 2004. It was the last time the USA failed to win the Olympic tournament.
In addition to Durant, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday and Jayson Tatum also took part in Tokyo 2021, while Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid have never represented the USA at the Olympics. Embiid, a native of Cameroon, has only had a US passport since 2022, but his participation is in jeopardy due to a meniscus injury.
If all seven players take part in the tournament, there will still be five spots left. Team USA had published a preliminary squad in 2023: This list contained a whopping 41 players, including the seven who, according to The Athletic, have a guaranteed place.
