The Ferrari team hoped to compete with Red Bull Racing this year. In Bahrain, however, Max Verstappen was again supreme and Ferrari could barely come close. Charles Leclerc is positive about Ferrari’s development, but he does not expect a battle with Red Bull yet.
Leclerc had a difficult race in Bahrain. The Monegasque opened the attack on Verstappen at the start, but that attack was repulsed. Leclerc then struggled with braking problems, which meant he could no longer get close to Verstappen. Leclerc had to fight several tough duels with George Russell, Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz. However, he was unable to win these duels. He crossed the line in fourth.
Leclerc is nevertheless extremely optimistic about the coming season.
