Josh Hart fires back at Monty Williams after DiVincenzo’s record-breaking performance

Josh Hart has responded to Monty Williams’ incredulous statements in the press conference following the 99-124 loss to the Knicks where Donte DiVincenzo set the record for three-pointers made with 11, in addition to adding his new scoring record with 40 points.

The aforementioned Williams immediately cut off the journalist’s question when referring to DiVincenzo’s record: “I don’t care about his team at all. “I couldn’t care less… Those guys, the way they made those three-pointers, I don’t want to be part of that story.”

Josh Hart, without mincing words as he usually demonstrates, did not take long to respond to the microphones of MSG Network: «If he didn’t want to be part of that story, he would have told his boys to defend better. “We have a teammate who is right, of course we are going to look for him to shoot basket.”

«It’s common sense basketball. He’s the head coach of this league, so he should have enough IQ to know that if someone is right, you have to defend him. So, in this way, they will be part of our history,” Hart explained.

For his part, the protagonist of this story was more diplomatic about it. «All I can say is that I respect them very much. And if they feel that way, I think that conversation should be had off-camera,” DiVincenzo said.

This coming night the Knicks face the Raptors plagued by casualties starting at 12:30 a.m. on Canadian soil. They have two consecutive victories and six wins in their last seven games played.
