Footage showed the Fenerbahce player kicking a man lying on the ground in the head, although Oosterwolde claims it was in the side. “This may well be a lifelong ban,” Bert van Losser begins the East Stand. “I don’t know how this works in Turkey, but in the Netherlands there will be a criminal court,” Van Wissing adds.

The reporter does not rule out that Oosterwolde will get into serious problems. “Cantona was once suspended for eight months for a karate kick towards a supporter. In Western Europe, this could easily end his career,” said Van Wissing. “I don’t know exactly what happened, but this is very primitive. I know that supporter does not belong there, but this does not belong there either. Oosterwolde was very good, but that will be less for the time being…”
