In Fontaine-l’Evêque, Barbara Osselaer would look good with the mayoral scarf

A few days ago, the MR of Fontaine-l’Evêque unveiled his staff for the next elections in October. For the Committed, Barbara Osselaer was appointed to lead the list. In the last municipal elections in 2018, she received 705 votes, second on the Mieux Demain list behind Michèle Siciliano and her 1,252 votes.

“The Les Engagés, MR and Ecolo coalition remains united under the banner of the Better Tomorrow list and reaffirms its common commitment to the future of the City”, we are informed. Mieux Demain is the cartel formed before the 2018 elections by the MR, the Engagés (ex-CDH) and Ecolo, “to better counter the PS”. The day after the elections, with 10 seats, they signed with the PS (11 seats) to form a large majority in Fontaine-l’Evêque, only pushing out the union of mayors (UB) in opposition. “This list is distinguished by its open nature and its resolutely focused orientation towards the concerns of citizens. Mieux Demain works for a better future for Fontaine-l’Evêque. The list guided by values of openness, listening and civic engagement wants to respond to current challenges while preparing the ground for future generations. ”

Second place on the list will be awarded to an open-minded candidate, a citizen without political affiliation demonstrating the group’s desire to promote citizen participation. Several places are reserved for opening candidates.

Among the many projects underway for the future of Fontaine-l’Evêque, we include the urban renovation plan aimed at obtaining subsidies for renovation work, the restoration of heritage (Saint-Vaast, the village hall, municipal administration, etc.), the energy renovation of schools and sports facilities, the creation of a new nursery as well as the implementation of alternative mobility. In addition, efforts are also being made to reorganize the administration and promote IT development, among other projects that are being developed in favor of Fontaine-l’Évêque.

The citizen meetings are scheduled as follows:

Wednesday May 15 at the Salle St Quirin in Leernes. Tuesday May 21 at the Trieux parish hall in Forchies-La-Marche. Wednesday May 22 at the Café des Gaulx in Fontaine-l’Évêque. “You have to have courage!”: Les Engagés present their regional list for the Charleroi-Thuin district
