【Inje】Inje-gun is accelerating the project with the goal of completing the ‘Seohwa Peace Gymnasium’ within the year, which is being built in Cheondo-ri, Seohwa-myeon.
The ‘Seohwa Peace Gymnasium Construction Project’ began construction in August last year, and the current completion rate is around 12%.
Seohwa Peace Gymnasium, with a total project cost of 11.8 billion won, including 4.9 billion won in national road funds secured through the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s balanced development project, will be equipped with sports facilities for badminton, basketball, and volleyball games on the second floor and 2,951㎡ above ground. Additionally, a stage will be installed inside to host various competitions and events.
The gym will be located right next to the Seohwa-myeon Sports Park so that local residents can enjoy indoor and outdoor sports at the same time.
County Governor Choi Sang-gi said, “The population of Inje-gun is about 32,000 according to resident registration statistics, but the actual resident population, including military officers at local military units, is 70,000.” He added, “We are expanding basic infrastructure and cultural and sports facilities to meet the needs of 70,000 residents, and actively “We will revitalize the local economy through sports marketing,” he said.
Inje-gun is leaping forward as a sports city in name and reality, generating an economic effect of about 7.5 billion won last year by conducting sports marketing based on the solid sports infrastructure of six towns and villages. The county expected that local sports marketing would become more active once the Inje Sports Complex construction project, including the Seohwa Peace Gymnasium, is completed in 2026.
