San Marino Titans Dominate Season Opener with 8-0 Victory Against Macerata

The new baseball season starts with an 8-0 victory against Macerata. The first two innings decide Serravalle’s challenge. The Titans start in the best way: base ball for Tromp, hit by Batista and single by Diaz which makes it 1-0. San Marino scores again. Lopez’s sacrifice fly made it 2-0 and Angulo’s single made it 3-0. The second San Marino attack brings another two points. Single by Di Fabio and base to Diaz, hit. Then Alvarez’s great swing pushes home the points of 5-0. On Mount Quevedo he doesn’t have great difficulties and in his four starts he only suffers two arrivals on base, one by the former Leonora. Macerata comes close to scoring in the sixth inning on Baez, who then finds the strikeout to end the second half. Three more points arrive in the lower part. Batista’s double, Diaz’s single and four balls for Alvarez fill the bases. Lopez makes it 6-0. The seventh point came from a missed ball during Celli’s turn and the final 8-0 from a wild throw. Pedrol also made his debut on the mound and ended the game with three strikeouts. In the debut match, the Italian champions Bologna and Parma also won, with 7-1 and 1-0 respectively against the two teams from Grosseto.
