It used to be one of the cornerstones of the birth of the golden generation. Remember, for example, the successful classmates from Litvín, Reichl, Ručinský, Lang and Šlégr. But after the revolution, specialized sports classes in general disappeared in many cases, and in secondary schools the connection between studies and sports is even sadder. “The school system is the most fundamental difference between the possibilities of training players here and between Scandinavia and other hockey countries,” says critically Michal Broš, a former world champion and today the coach of the junior team from Jihlava.
