Richard Gasquet Receives Roland-Garros Invitation despite ATP Ranking

FREE MIDI INFO. Despite his current 113th place in the world at ATP, Richard Gasquet will participate in the final draw of Roland-Garros thanks to an invitation granted by the Parisian tournament.

This is good news for the experienced Héraultais. After playing his 1000th match on the ATP circuit recently, and a few months after setting a record of 956 weeks in the top 100, Richard Gasquet will play Roland-Garros again.

According to our information, the 37-year-old world No.113 will actually benefit from an invitation given by the Paris tournament to enter the final draw even though his ranking would not have allowed him to do so.

Gasquet does not want to stop there

Therefore avoiding having to go through the merciless jungle of qualifications, which would not have guaranteed him playing a 21st time at Porte d’Auteuil. However, the former world No.7 would like this Roland-Garros not to be the last of his career.

“You never know what could happen,” he recently confided to our colleagues at RMC Sport. “It could be, maybe not, there’s a chance it could be. There is also Bercy at the end of the season, I haven’t made the decision. I would like to do Roland-Garros next year but it’s far from being done.
