Hradec was a worthy opponent in the premier East Bohemian derby as part of the extra league playoffs. “We could have won every match, it always ended with a goal,” Pařík realized after the quarter-final series.
Of course, the heated derby also brought a number of emotional moments. Like at the end of the fourth duel on the ice in Hradec Krka, when Tomáš Zohorna from Pardubice yelled at Slovakian forward Oliver Okuliar “Learn Czech, Hungarians” on the penalty bench five seconds before the end, which was also caught by the traffic microphones.

“We just laughed about it in the cabin. You just have to look at the Pardubice roster and they have three Hungarians,” Pařík joked and then corrected his dig. “Three Slovaks,” he smiled. “But it’s not okay when Zohorna screams like this. A player of his quality can forgive that. He can get under the skin, but this was over the edge,” said the 23-year-old goalkeeper.
After arriving in Hradec on loan from Liberec, Letňan became Mountfield’s clear number one. And a name not trained in the extra league in the east of Bohemia was a pleasant surprise. “You have to kill me to put the puck in the goal. My greatest strength is mental,” described Pařík. “I have some weaknesses in speed and coordination. I jump on the wheels head over heels,” he described.

He would like to stay in Hradec, but he will not be lucky. “Unfortunately, it’s not in the game, they already have goalkeepers signed,” he noted. According to speculation, they should be Slovakian Stanislav Škorvánek from Michalovci and Filip Novotný from Mladá Boleslav.
Pařík still has a valid contract with the White Tigers. “I am still the property of Liberec, where three goalkeepers are signed,” he pointed out. The current goalkeepers Daniel Král and Dávid Hrenák also have a contract. “We’ll see how they deal with us. In any case, my goal is to build a name for myself in the extra league,” declared the native of Neratovice.
