Giant Saalbach: Odermatt first, De Aliprandini 12th

Chasing the en plein, Marco Odermatt is in the lead after the first run of the giant of the Saalbach Cup finals. The Swiss Cup dominator has already won 9 giants out of 9 this season and is chasing more records. It wasn’t an easy heat on the salty snow and tested by the spring temperatures, but Odermatt managed to leave Loic Meillard behind by 40/100 and all the others by more than a second. In third place is the Norwegian Steen Olsen, at 1″39, and only Zubcic (fourth at 1″61) and Verdu (fifth at 1″72) managed to keep the gap under 2 seconds.
