Started just in time for crunch time Fiba (host of the Champions League) conducted a survey among the 16 club bosses. Among other things, they should name the best thrower, the toughest defender or their favorite for the title.

Now we have the results. Exciting: The MHP giants Ludwigsburg appear in two categories! When asked which team was the most fun to watch, the Giants came in second, receiving 27.2 percent of the votes. Coach Josh King’s team (38) only had to admit defeat to Unicaja Malaga (36.4%).

What a great recognition – especially when you consider that “Lubu” has a reputation for being a strong defensive team.

Ludwigsburg shares the other top placement with defending champion Bonn. 18.2 percent of those surveyed even chose the two BBL teams as the surprise of the season. Here only French club Cholet Baskets finished ahead of the German duo (27.2%).

When asked about the strongest opponent, Bonn also made it into the top 5. But the club bosses don’t think Ludwigsburg or Bonn can win the title. Here they see Malaga as the hottest contender (54.5%), followed by Hapoel Jerusalem (36.4%).

Most people think Levi Randolph (Jerusalem/36.4%) has the best chances of being named the best player of the season.

However, for an overwhelming majority of 80 percent, the most respected professional in the competition is oldie and ex-NBA professional Marcelinho Huertas (40/Tenerife).

For more than half of the club bosses in Turkey, the most atmospheric atmosphere exists at Pinar Karsiyaka (54.5%).

By the way: The giants want to take the next step towards the quarter-finals on Wednesday against Dijon (8 p.m. live on Dyn/DISPLAY) – and further consolidate its status as a euro surprise.
