Czech Judoka Renata Zachová Makes History with Gold Medal Win at European Championships

The Czech Renata Zachová, 23 years old, won the gold medal at the European Judo Championships, held in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. In the final, in the category up to 63 kilos she defeated Joanne van Lieshout from the Netherlands and thus became the first Czech in history to win the championship.

In men, the last time a Czech won the European Judo Championship was in 2018, with Lukáš Krpálek taking the gold medal, who then won his third victory in this European event.
