Giannis Antetokounmpo Reveals He Doesn’t Watch Basketball, Prefers EuroLeague Highlights

Giannis Antetokounmpo recently revealed that he doesn’t watch basketball, referring in particular to the Boston Celtics’ victory over the Golden State Warriors, but he follows the EuroLeague with interest.

Antetokounmpo corrected himself when speaking to Amerikanos24, admitting that he watches the EuroLeague, in particular the matches of the Greek teams and of his brother Kostas, who plays for Panathinaikos. However, he made it clear that he mostly watches highlights rather than full matches.

“I look at both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. I won’t lie to you: I don’t watch all the games, I watch the highlights. I think Panathinaikos is third and Olympiacos fourth. I wish you both the best. I hope that Kostas returns healthy and strong and able to contribute his best for his team, helping them win as many games as possible. Like I said, I wish both teams the best. I only watch the highlights. I really like. I don’t watch the NBAAntetokounmpo said.

He expressed his interest in the Greek national team and his desire to play in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“I would like to play in the Olympics. It’s far away, in four or five months. I don’t want to lie to you. In my mind right now I’m not thinking about the Olympics. Of course, I watch the guys play and I saw the latest victory. They were fantastic against Holland. They turned the game around, they played defense in the last few minutes, they moved the ball, they got free throws, they played really well…”.
