Football: the Caen coach in the spotlight on Time Square

Last year, French coach Wilfried Nancy became the first black technician to win MLS (Major League Soccer, the American championship) with Columbus. Another French coach had his hour of glory, or rather his 15 seconds of fame, in the United States, in New York more precisely, this Wednesday on a giant screen in Times Square.

Alban, traveling to the United States and member of the We Are Malherbe supporters group, wanted to give “a nod to Nico, this hero” by paying tribute to the current coach of SM Caen (8th in Ligue 2) , Nicolas Seube. The latter is a club legend. He has coached the Normandy team since 2023 after having played there for 16 years (510 matches between 2001 and 2017).

This fervent supporter of SM Caen therefore paid 40 dollars to display the weed coach for 15 seconds on a giant screen in Times Square. “We asked the club for permission to use images of Nicolas and broadcast them on the screen,” he told France Bleu Normandie. I submitted the idea to the team, I had seen it with other clubs. We wanted to do something fun! »
