Diane Parry dominates Martina Trevisan in first round at Indian Wells

The battle raged for more than two hours, but Diane Parry gave up nothing to achieve a strong success against the Italian left-hander, Martina Trevisan (59th) (7-5, 6-3). Because this match was a real fight, with some solid fights from the baseline, where Parry bravely took up the challenge, in front of a player who was constantly fighting.

At the finish, it was a success all the more deserving as Parry often had control of things, notably obtaining break points only to convert three at the finish and being constantly under threat, notably during a first set where she gave up a break in advance, before concluding at 6-5.

Leylah Fernandez in the next round

“I knew it would be a complicated match, against a player who is hanging on at every point. I had to go get this match. I had a lot of chances but I didn’t get frustrated, I knew it was going to happen and that I would be able to turn the situation around,” expressed the Frenchwoman with the one-handed backhand, at the exit.

In the second round, Diane Parry will face another left-hander, in this case the 34th Canadian world number, Leylah Fernandez.
